Valley Park CERT

What is CERT?

In 2006 certstl.gifValley Park formed a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). CERT is set up so the community can help itself and us in the event of a large scale disaster. CERT team members will be trained in basic first aid, basic fire suppression, triage, search techniques, and many other skills that will greatly aid fire and EMS services in a time of crisis.

Our CERT team is part of the Meramec Valley Citizen Corps which is made up of the Metro West Fire Protection District, Eureka Fire Protection District, Fenton Fire Protection District, Valley Park Fire Protection District, City of Crestwood Police and Fire Departments, City of Kirkwood Police and Fire Departments, Eureka Police Department, St. Louis County Police Department Office of Emergency Management, Creve Coeur Police Department, Town and Country Police Department and West County EMS and Fire Protection District.  To learn more about the Citizen Corps and it's other programs click here...   www.citizencorps.gov/cert/about.shtm

If you are interested in becoming a CERT team member, feel free to click on the link at the bottom, print out the form, fill it out and mail, or drop off, to our station #2.  It is just an informational form so we can get an idea of how many people in our area are interested, and so we can contact you once we get the next class scheduled.  Remember, you don't have to live in Valley Park to take our CERT class, so we'll look forward to hearing from people in our area.
