Assistant Chief
Operations/Training
John Weffelmeyer
Assistant Chief Weffelmeyer started with the district in 2002. He has served the community as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Captain, and Battalion Chief before being promoted to Assistant Chief in September 2025. Assistant Chief Weffelmeyer currently oversees department operations and the training division. He has a bachelors degree in fire service administration and holds certifications in multiple rescue disciplines including high angle, swift water, trench/collapse, MO state fire service instructor 2, live fire instructor, and state certified fire investigator. Assistant Chief Weffelmeyer comes from a fire service family and enjoys helping people and teaching the next generation of the fire service.
